ABOUT THE ARTIST
Speros Pascalides
I have always had an interest in the arts and beautiful exotic and domestic woods from around the globe. At a young age I developed a passion for working with wood from my father. In my spare time I would create keepsake boxes, furniture, and create custom wood solutions to everyday problems. Knowing how much I enjoyed working with my father on wood projects, and my continued interest in art, my wife surprised me with the gift of a wood lathe. Months passed learning about the qualities of various woods, best practices in turning, and the best way to finish my projects. After enjoying woodturning as a hobby for quite some time, my work area grew into a large, fully functional studio. I became a member of the American Association of Woodturners, and local chapters, then decided to open a small business to share my enjoyment and experiences with others. Each piece that I make is carefully hand crafted and designed to showcase the natural beauty of the wood (or other high quality media). I bring many years of experience to my designs. I have always considered myself an artist as opposed to a woodworker, ultimately expressing my creativity through wood.
